1.? Overview:
Zeranol, also known as α-zearalanol or simply zearalanol, is a synthetic nonsteroidal estrogen and is used mainly as an anabolic agent in veterinary medicine, and is approved for use as a growth promoter in livestock.
2.? Principle:
The basis of the measurement is the antigen-antibody reaction. Antibodies are connected to the column and the zeranol in the sample is extracted, filtered, and diluted, and then passed slowly through the zeranol immunoaffinity column. The target substances bind to the antibodies in the column and the immunoaffinity column is then washed to remove other unrelated substances that have not been bound. Zeranol is eluted with methanol and then injected into an analytical instrument for detection.
